Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
DebtDrone is operated by an independent solo founder ("we," "us," or "our"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our automated technical debt analysis service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services:
- Account Information: When you sign up via GitHub or GitLab OAuth, we receive your email address, username, and profile picture.
- Source Code Access: We request read-only access to your repositories to perform static analysis. We do not store your source code permanently. It is processed in ephemeral runners and discarded immediately after analysis.
- Usage Data: We collect metrics on how you use our dashboard to improve our product.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for:
- Providing technical debt reports and code quality metrics.
- Authenticating your access to the platform.
- Sending transactional emails (e.g., welcome messages, report summaries) via Resend.
3. Data Security
We employ industry-standard security measures. Your OAuth access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers:
- Resend: For transactional email delivery.
- Paddle: For payment processing. We do not store credit card details.
5. Data Retention & Your Rights
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request a portable copy of your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@debtdrone.net. Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
